We're excited to announce the arrival of Neil McLean as Design Director in our Edinburgh Studio.

The UK and Europe remain a crucial part of our global strategy, with a growing foothold in London. Throughout Neil’s 20+ year career, he’s built an impressive international and local portfolio, fostered strong client relationships, and maintained a hands-on approach in projects, focusing on a diverse range of sectors including higher education, residential, and commercial. As an accredited Passivhaus designer, Neil’s expertise lies in designing energy-efficient and sustainable spaces.

“My previous role evolved into maintaining the design quality across numerous offices, and I began to miss the hands-on, client-focused work. I’m excited to join 10 Design and get back to doing what I love – design. I’m ready to get my sleeves rolled and get stuck in with the team, working closely with our clients to not only meet but exceed their vision and ambitions through sustainable and human-centred design.” Neil McLean, Design Director.

Senior Design Principal, Paul Rodgers shared, “Neil's leadership skills and dedication to collaboration, both within our teams and with clients, will further enhance 10 Design's commitment to architectural excellence. With his extensive experience in designing to Carbon Net Zero standards, we look forward to delivering inspiring buildings with him.”

Before joining 10 Design, Neil honed his architectural skills at Atkins for 11 years, ensuring consistent design excellence across the North Region, from Manchester to Aberdeen. His earlier experience at RMJM, of 10 years, and before that at David Mikhail Architects, and Gordon Murray and Alan Dunlop Architects, laid the groundwork for his design philosophy, rooted in rational urbanism.

Welcome to the team, Neil!
