Insights From Ross Milne On Navigating Sustainability Transition at Hong Kong Green Tech Salon
Speaking on the Hong Kong Green Tech Salon CEO Panel, Ross Milne, joined by fellow panellists — Chun Kong Lau, Managing Director at Colliers International; Conrad Wong, Vice Chairman at Yau Lee Holdings Limited; Johnny Wei, Alternate Chief Executive Officer at OCBC Bank — explored sustainable design and the projects leading the way as part of the Hong Kong Climate Action Plan 2050.
Moderated by Christine Loh, Senior Advisor at Carbonless Asia, the panel wrapped up the Hong Kong Green Tech Challenge, which selected eight start-ups to help decarbonise Hong Kong’s built environment.
“Hong Kong is a high-density city that exemplifies an efficient urban model on a macro scale. However, we must shift our focus to individual buildings to further improve sustainability and resilience. To attract tenants, commercial buildings need to prioritize environmental sensitivity, taking cues from London and other major cities,” shared Ross, “transitioning away from fossil fuels, enhancing building performance, and investing in energy-efficient façade designs are crucial steps to significantly reduce the environmental impact of our buildings.”
